Hope, the ultimate motivator, the thing that keeps us going. Hope is a gimongulous (it's not a real word, I know) part of the American character, whether it be in the form of determination or dreams, hope keeps us moving along. The Martin Luther King Jr. quote fit so nicely it just had to be the page header, and the quote from The Grapes of Wrath worked nicely as well, as that is a book with a large focus on hope and looking forward. I chose the picture because I thought it was inspiring and exactly what this page needed. The Dickinson poem fit nicely as well with the theme of hope being something that keeps us moving on, and the quote from Beck represented hope as well. And finally the Sam Cooke song "A Change is Gonna Come" again, also fit so perfectly. It is a song about hope, about hoping and saying that some day things are going to change.
